I stayed on the top floor at the Stardust with a great view of the strip the final two nights before it closed Nov 1, 2006 to say goodbye to one of my favorite Las Vegas Hotel/Casinos. This is a compilation of my time there. The old Las Vegas many of us prefer is quickly disappearing- I hope long time visitors of this city will enjoy this last look at one of the original resorts on the Strip.

Wow. Thanks, that brought back memories. Spent a lot of time in the Stardust in the early 80's when my parents would stay there every chance they got. The pool shot brought back some memories of one of my first kisses as a teen happened right there. :)

Classy song to say farewell to a classy casino.

Used to go there every week during football season from 1996-2001 to place bets and play parlay cards. I used to go through the side entrance and walked down that narrow hallway to get to the sportbook.Missed doing that, can never do it again. Sigh.

Circus Circus is next. The hotel will be demolished, and will be rebuilt, and will still use the Circus Circus name and will still be owned by MGM-Mirage.

I do agree with you. The old Las Vegas we know and love is disappearing. I am only 14, but I like the 90's Las Vegas, the rooms weren't so expensive.

Basically a subsidiary of the Chicago Outfit until the mid-1980's.
